feel sorry for me?

This fever is really dragging me down right now. It must be at least two days since I last lifted either one of my feets off the floor while moving around. Even my wife starts to feel a bit compassionate with my situation now ;-) But the ones showing the most compassion, as one might expect, is the person sitting here writing this stuff, me.

From early childhood I was a sworn Start Wars fan, and as with so many fellow fans, it didn’t really wear off with age. Still love those movies, and I don’t hold no grudge for the first 3 episodes either. So, as one of my usual treats when I’m home sick is to pull out one of the movies. I’ve seen them so many times now, so my mind can wander of anytime it wants. This time it was Episode 2 with audio commentary. Haven’t seen that one in a long time now, but due to my increasing interest in digital photography, I immediately noticed a name there. John Knoll as director of special effects. A short search on WikiPedia proved my suspicion that he was the brother of Thomas Knoll, and co-funder of Photoshop. Talented people really get around.

I also found another treat that is a bit more expensive, but far more healthy than chocolate. Whenever I feel able to sit up straight for more than 15 minutes, I go to the office and make a huge print of one of my old pictures. The hour or two in between I spend deciding which should be the next. The size really transforms some of them. not all to the better. I guess I need some experience before I can evaluate which ones are suited for big without actually trying.

I just was sick myself. I had the flu in the easter week which didn’t let go fully until friday the week after. I was home out cold and barely managed to be up and had to get a ’sykemelding’. I didn’t even get to watch any movies because I was so out cold. Well, I managed to squeeze in one – “Constantine” – one of the movies I can’t get my wife to watch, so when I get the chance I do so.

Anyways – hope you get better soon!

PS: We should get together and watch the Star Wars movies again, on the big screen :-) . Quite a while since I watched them too.

That’s great that you have a fancy new printer to make some big prints. I plan to buy a printer some day, but at the moment I am still on a student’s budget. Also, I plan to move back across the pond before the end of the year, so it doesn’t make too much sense to get lots of nice (non-portable) equipment at the moment :)

    best,
    Emery
